SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for various aspects of the Graduate Medical Education Department. Provides oversight to the development, direction and coordination of all Graduate Medical Education activities:
• Manage support staff;
• Develops strategies for recruiting Medical Students, Interns and Residents;
• Provides management of the Graduate Medical Education Department;
• Supports the program director, faculty, trainees and medical students.
• Authorized point of contact for all official communication from the AOA regarding:
o Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education Programs;
o AOA Match,
o Assist in the annual budget preparation;
o Prepares, distributes and maintains all affiliation agreements for required rotations;
o Aids in departmental operations.
o Coordinates and proctors in-training examinations.
• Oversees Continuity Clinic
o Manages Continuity Clinic operations, maintaining adequate staffing and patient flow;
o Utilizes process improvement tools and techniques to optimize Continuity Clinic operations.
• Oversees department administration:
o Reviews and manages all internal requests for information, documentation, data requests for the OGME Program;
o Maintains an efficient filing system for all confidential records and files;
o Coordinates departmental activities with faculty, CME activities and schedules;
o Organizes Administrative Meetings;
o Develops and maintains departmental databases;
o Completes all correspondence, data and electronic registration requests colleges in a timely manner.
• Supervises program administration:
o Prepares and maintains trainee policies and procedure manuals;
o Updates the Department of Medical Education Publications;
o Organizes the annual orientation for incoming trainees;
o Assists in the preparation for program site visits by the AOA;
o Creates trainee schedules.
• Recruits new students and trainees for medical education programs.
o Assists in the development of recruitment and marketing material for new students and trainees;
o Attends identified “Hospital Day” events.
• Attends Osteopathic professional meetings as appropriate;
• Responsible for various aspects of the graduate medical education department. Provides oversight to the
development, direction, and coordination of all graduate medical education activities;
× Manages support staff in the graduate medical education department;
× Develops strategies for recruiting medical students, interns and residents;
× Provides administrative management of the graduate medical education department; and
× Provides support for DME, program directors, faculty, trainees, and medical students.
