We are revamping our TY Research Curriculum. Can anyone share a format/curriculum they use for presenting their annual TY Research Projects-ie "Research Day"

We do not have a TY Program...we do have an Academic Excellence Day for which residents submit abstracts in 3 categories (PATIENT CARE --Case Reports, Chart Retrospective Studies and actual Clinical Trials, RESEARCH--generally more Basic Science Stuff...and PATIENT SAFETY / QUALITY IMPROVEMENT).

The abstracts are reviewed and some rejected...the top three are asked to do oral presentations...the rest make POSTERS that we display in the lobby on AED...Judges then decide the top 3 posters...and after the Oral Presentations they also are given 1st 2nd and 3rd ribbons and cash prizes.

We now announce the winners and do the oral presentations in a very early 5:30--6:30pm meeting to which everyone / the diaspora is invited...

There must be a Faculty member as an advisor on every abstract/poster.

Most of our submissions are from PGY2 and up...Interns are a bit busy but we do get 1-4 from Prelim Med Interns, usually in the field they are going into...

We make a nice brochure promoting the AED and use it as an Internal Marketing tool for our Med Exec Committee, Senior Management, etc.

Good luck...and I'd PUSH the Quality Improvement / Patient Safety as a category...it will help with the Next Accreditation System...or maybe the Next One after that !!!
